Located further down the road from InterContinental Samui. I cycled there in just 15 minutes after lunch. The temple grounds look rather forlorn and not well-kept, but this is probably it is not so well-known and lacking in fund for maintenance. The interesting part of this temple is that there is a mummified monk for over 40 years. Please be modest and walk around respectfully. Read more.

This temple houses the mummified body of the Buddhist monk Loung Por Ruam which can be viewed here in a glass case. He was placed in it upon his death 25 years ago and his body is still in remarkably good condition. Wat Kiri Wongkaram has very quiet and calm atmosphere. Entrance is free here, as in all other temples of Koh Samui. At the temple territory there is a Buddhist cemetery.

When we visited re construction on the main building was taking place, but the mummified monk was still there to be seen. Strange to behold, but if was fun to visit!
