Out of all the hotels we stayed at, this One took covid most seriously, but went along way to compensate with great finishing touches. Great location. In desperate need of modernisation and renovation. I guess that location is what keeps this hotel up and running in combination with the great staff also, that must be said , but otherwise this hotel needs urgent renovation and modernisation. It has not changed since the first time I cam here more than 12 years ago.
So if it wasn't for the location and the great staff members and probably also lack of alternatives I wouldn't stay here. With respect to C19, restrictions are in place for instance for the breakfast, however that seems to be perfectly and smoothly handled. Date of stay: July Value.

Affefcted by Covid as everyone else in this world. Like all hotels Hilton Old town Antwerp is affected by the Covid pandemic as well. At many places hand sanitizer is available and staff is wearing mouth masks. At the reception a perplex screen is assuring sufficient distance between staff and guests. Quick and friendly check-in and our dog was welcome as well.
Not all floors are open so we stayed at the 3rd floor in a business room. No minibar available and no room service. If you want a daily cleaning you have to ask for it specifically. This all due to the Covid rules. A take-away breakfast is offered. During my sleep I woke up realizing the beds was too hard for a good night sleep.

The location is great, rooms needed a refresh but the Executive Lounge and breakfast downstairs were really good. Last Friday we travelled for the first time since lockdown as we had business in Antwerp. The experience was not good at all. I definitely got the impression that Hilton local or global had decided to take advantage of the Covid crisis to charge customers the same money but provide little or no service.
We had booked an Executive Room 5th floor with breakfast. Upon check-in the very friendly clerk informed us that the Executive Lounge normally we should have access was closed because of the governmental restrictions on self-service places. Of course I don't disagree with anything that helps our overall health and safety but this rule doesn't tell Hilton to close the Lounge, it says that it cannot be self-service. Where Hilton goes wrong is that instead of choosing to provide service to its customers, it prefers to take advantage and cut costs and close the place.
We were also informed that there would be no Breakfast as usual. Same story, breakfast is normally in buffet format but yet they decide to close, rather than serve people. We were told tat we could get a "breakfast bag" and eat in our room.
The End of The Age of Innocence
We kindly denied that privilege, went out and had breakfast elsewhere - as that is perfectly allowed within the rules. Both the closure of the Lounge and the breakfast situation were nowhere or at least not clearly to be found on the website upon reservation time nor were we informed by email. By the way, I tried to put this complaint directly to Hilton but was not capable of finding a way to do so on their website. This complaint is not anonymous Hilton, if you want to find us, room Friday evening.
Last but not least, staff as always was great and very friendly. I think that their management is making the wrong decisions. Date of stay: June Rooms.
